Real life peer stories. Proven outcomes.
In 2015, Overdose Lifeline created the youth opioid prevention program, This is Not About Drugs: Opioids, to fill a gap in youth drug education, specifically addressing the opioid public health crisis. Over the years, the program has kept current, expanding opioid awareness to include how to recognize opioid overdose symptoms, the basics of the opioid reversal drug naloxone (NARCAN), the importance of calling 911, the rise in synthetic opioids (fentanyl), harm reduction strategies, and the practice of fentanyl-laced street drugs and counterfeit pills.
Due to TINAD Opioids, youth in 38+ states better understand the risks of prescription opioid misuse, how to recognize an opioid overdose, and how to reach out for help.
